Top 10 Daily Fantasy Hitting Performances of 2013

Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon had a huge game Friday against Arizona.

In his third start of the season, he went 6-for-6 with three doubles, a home run, 5 RBI and four runs scored.

That ends up being a pretty darn good Daily Fantasy score, worth 21 points on FanDuel, 47 points on Draft Kings, and an astounding 105 points on Draft Day.

So that got me thinking about some of the best Daily Fantasy hitting performances of 2013 — and I decided to write a post about it!

(I’m also writing a post about the Top 10 Daily Fantasy Pitching performances of 2013, so keep an eye out for that.)

Top 10 Fantasy Hitting Performances of 2013Since each Daily Fantasy site has a different scoring system, I decided to run the totals on four of my favorites, then average them out to find what the consensus best games were. So I used the scoring from FanDuel, DraftDay, Draft Kings and DraftStreet.

1. Dioner Navarro, C, Chicago Cubs vs. CHW, May 29

  • 3-for-3, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 4 R, 1 BB = 61.93 avg Fantasy pts

First, it’s incredible that a catcher had the best hitting day of any player in 2013.

Second, it’s also incredible that it was a Chicago Cubs player that led all hitters, considering the Marlins are the only team with fewer hits last year in the majors.

And third, DIONER NAVARRO!?! On his fourth team in as many years, Navarro was batting .200 on the season before this game – and then .241 after it. It’s safe to say, he had insane value this day, with a super low salary on every site.

T2. Miguel Cabrera, 1B/3B, Detroit at TEX, May 19

  • 4-for-4, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 4 R, 1 BB = 60.81

T2. Shane Victorino, OF, Boston vs. BAL, Aug. 29

  • 3-for-3, 1 2B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 4 R, 1 BB = 60.81

4. Pablo Sandoval, 3B, San Francisco at SD, Sept. 4

  • 4-for-5, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 3 R, 1 out = 59.56

5. Alfonso Soriano, OF, N.Y. Yankees vs. LAA, Aug. 14

  • 3-for-3, 1 2B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 3 R, 1 BB = 58.44

6. Will Middlebrooks, 3B, Boston at TOR, April 7

  • 4-for-5, 1 2B, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 4 R, 1 out = 56.94

7. Carlos Gonzalez, OF, Colorado at CIN, June 5

  • 3-for-5, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 3 R, 1 K, 2 outs = 56.56

8. Kelly Johnson, 2B/OF, Tampa Bay vs. MIA, May 27

  • 4-for-5, 1 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 2 R, 1 out = 55.19

9. Miguel Cabrera, 1B/3B, Detroit at HOU, May 4

  • 4-for-4, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 R, 1 BB = 55.06

The only player on this list of hitters to make it twice. A list, mind you, that doesn’t have Mike Trout on it.

10. Brandon Moss, 1B/OF, Oakland at DET, Aug. 28

  • 4-for-5, 1 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 R, 1 K = 54.63

Ranking the top Daily Fantasy hitting performances of 2013 should also help us in-season, as we see some of the best outings of 2014 unravel.
