Daily Fantasy Five NFL Week 4: Raiding the Oakland Raiders Roster

There’s just a ton of great Daily Fantasy Football articles out there, including some articles from my colleagues at other sites and from some great writers at many other sites.

My goal here is to someday get a group of writers to help me, where we can post an article like this each morning, showing the top new Daily fantasy Football articles of the day.

But until then, I’ll churn some of these out once or twice a week, and we’ll go from there!

Last night’s Ravens-Steelers game was about exactly as we thought it was going to be. Michael Vick disappointed, Antonio Brown had a stinker, Le’Veon Bell was about average and Josh Scobee kicked (and missed) enough field goals to warrant being ranked 12th among kickers this week by me!

1. Week 4 Daily Fantasy Football: Value Based Drafting Targets

One of my favorite DFS articles over at SCFE each week is Michael Tomlin’s VBD Drafting Targets piece. This latest one points out some gems like T.J. Yeldon, who I’m firmly behind in his game against the Colts, and Emmanuel Sanders. He also pegs a few sleeper picks like Ty Montgomery, who should see more targets in Davante Adams’ (ankle) likely absence. Finally, he posts his “All-Value Team,” which was a BIG scorer last week.

If you’re unaware, we also do a series over at SCFE, where different writers choose “Value Plays” at each position, other than kicker, along with three players to avoid on FanDuel this week.

2. Consensus Picks From DFS Experts

You should bookmark DailyFantasyTalk.com, as Brent Holloway does a great job of informing readers about a lot of industry news, from overlay reports to DFS legality discussions. But something they’re doing weekly now is sharing the most popular picks at each position among many of the most popular DFS writers. Then, they’re going to measure how each pundit did after Monday night’s games. Some of their consensus picks this week: Tyrod Taylor and Karlos Williams – two guys I also preach for Week 4!

3. NFL Slate Breakdown: Week 4

Each week, Denny Carter @CDCarter13 takes a look at every NFL game in the coming week, and he points out his favorite plays for Daily Fantasy Football this week. One he points out that I particularly like is stacking the Carolina Panthers defense with running back Jonathan Stewart.

”I’m into Charles Clay this week, and not just because he roasted the Dolphins in Week 3. He’s seeing 5.1 targets a game and it seems that Buffalo understands Clay is the team’s best red zone pass catcher. Giants’ linebackers have struggled mightily in coverage as the defense has given up an eye-opening 14.03 fantasy points per game to tight ends. Clay makes for a fine stack with Taylor.” – Carter

4. What Pricing Tiers of FanDuel Defenses Offer the Best Chances at Big Value?

I wrote this article over at FanDuel Insider this week that looked at defenses from last season much closer. Which salary tiers among defenses give you the best chances at GPP tournament success? Basically, I find out which tiers give you the best shot at a 3.0 value from your defense – and what I found was interesting. Rather than who should you start, it ended up being an article that pointed out which salary tier you should avoid in tournament play.

I’m also working on posting some strategy pieces over on my site, DavidGonos.com, going from the basics, like looking at the over/under lines in Vegas to find winners for FanDuel stacks and defenses to lean on, to more advanced plays.

5. 7 FanDuel Bargains for Week 4

Our buddies over at numberFire.com take a look at some good players with great prices for Week 4. Jason Schandl picks a bargain or two at each position (QB, RB, WR, TE) and explains why these are particularly good picks this week.

”Michael Crabtree ($5,800) has been heavily targeted each week so far, and his 33 total targets rank 12th in the NFL. He has accounted for 27% of the Raiders’ targets so far, the highest mark on the team.” – Schandl

BONUS: Introduction to Daily Fantasy Hockey: Breaking It Down

I had a Fantasy Hockey experts draft last night at Yahoo! with guys like Daniel Dobish of RotoExperts and Scott Pianowski of Yahoo! Sports. I plan on playing a lot more Daily Fantasy Hockey this season, as it seems to be one of the last bastions for non-sharks to play and still have a shot at a good return on investment. TheTonyM, over at RotoGrinders.com, shares what you should look for when filling out Daily Fantasy Hockey lineups!
