Daily Fantasy Five: Getting a Grip on NFL Week 2

While my goal is to post something on Daily Fantasy Sports every day, sometimes it’s going to be a handful of my favorite Daily Fantasy links, which I’ll call the Daily Fantasy Five.

Yesterday, we posted our FanDuel Cheat Sheet Week 2, and I plan on posting that every week. That doesn’t count as one of my favorite links, but I wanted you to be aware of it, too. While it defaults to FanDuel, you can also use the dropdown to use it for Draft Kings, FantasyAces and Yahoo!.

Daily Fantasy Five!

1. Week 2 Daily Fantasy Football: Value Based Drafting Targets

Over on SoCalledFantasyExperts.com, Michael Tomlin @Tomlin3 wrote a great piece that broke down how he uses a common strategy for yearly Fantasy, but for DFS – value based drafting. Like me, he thinks Jameis Winston offers great value for Week 2 against the Saints, and he shares a solid “All-Value Team” that you’ll enjoy.

2. NFL Slate Breakdown: Week 2

Denny Carter @CDCarter13 takes a look at every NFL game in Week 2, and he points out his best plays for DFS this week. One he points out that I particularly like is stacking the Carolina Panthers defense with running back Jonathan Stewart.

”If things go the way Vegas thinks they will – and I fully believe they will – Stewart should once again get a nice number of touches as the Panthers handle the atrocious Houston offense headed by whichever inaccurate, turnover-prone quarterback is under center this Sunday.” – Carter

3. Early FanDuel Ownership Highlights

I met FootballGuys.com’s Austin Lee @AustinLee in Washington, D.C., last month for the FLEX League draft – great dude, looks like Michael Cera, plays Fantasy like a FootballGuy.

Over at CrackingFanDuel.FootballGuys.com, Lee is doing a stellar job, and one of my favorite posts is his “Early Ownership” pieces, that shows which players from Sunday’s games are owned the most in Thursday night’s games. This is a great way to figure out some solid plays for your Sunday cash games. Right now, with 37 percent of owners playing Julio Jones against the Giants, that’s the way you want to lean in 50/50s and Head-to-Head formats.

4. NFL Chalk Talk: Week 2

Over at RotoGrinders, aj201 takes a look at ownership projections for GPP tournaments, which is his take on what he thinks everyone will do by closely monitoring what everyone’s talking about. Among GPP tournament plays this week, he likes Russell Wilson, Jeremy Hill and Charles Johnson.

5. DFS Football Tournament (GPP) Strategy: Picking Players, Game Theory and How to Win

FNTSY’s @ThePME sits down with one of my favorite Daily Fantasy Football writers, Jonathan Bales @BalesFootball of “Fantasy Sports for Smart People” books, to break down how to play guaranteed prize pool tournaments.

BONUS: Assessing the Values Different Priced Quarterbacks on FanDuel

I wrote a piece over at FanDuel Insider this week that looks at the best tiers of quarterbacks on FanDuel to find quarterbacks that have the best chances of getting you 3.0 value. (Essentially, that means someone that will score three points for every dollar of salary spent on him.)

So those are my Daily Fantasy Five favorite articles for Saturday, September 19, 2015 – and I hope you see your teams in the win columns on your favorite Daily Fantasy sites!
