Looking for Another Giant Day From a Giants Pitcher

Last season, Tim Lincecum pitched a no-hitter at San Diego and had one of the best days among all Daily Fantasy Baseball pitchers in 2013. He faces the free-swinging Diamondbacks on Wednesday, and daily players are hoping he can get some of that magic back.

(As a matter of fact, I went back and looked at the top 10 Fantasy Baseball hitting performances of 2013, and you might be surprised to see who landed on that list!)

You might also recall, I went through the top 10 Daily Fantasy hitting performances of 2013 on this site over the weekend.

Some of today’s interesting stories include:

  • Josh Beckett will make his first start since May of last season, due to a rib injury, but he’ll be going up against Detroit’s Anibal Sanchez.
  • Is Ryan Braun done punishing Phillies pitching, after he hit three home runs on Tuesday?
  • Looking at the best pitching parks in the game, only Dodger Stadium and AT&T Park are in action today.
  • Can the White Sox rookies keep it up? Jose Abreu and Marcus Semien destroyed Rockies pitching at Coors Field Tuesday, and the team as a whole hit six home runs. They play again today at 3:10 pm.

Wednesday’s Daily Fantasy Baseball Links

Here are your top Daily Fantasy Baseball articles for Wednesday! If you know of an article I’ve missed, drop it in the comment section, or tweet it at me @DavidGonos.

Before we get rolling too far into today’s links, I wanted to point you to #LuTV, which is a video show put on by some of the guys at LuDawgs.com. They did a nice job for Wednesday’s games below:

TheFakeBaseball.com – SP Streamers

Justin Klein takes his turn at choosing his favorite starting pitchers for Wednesday’s games. He likes Ervin Santana in his 2014 Braves debut, going up against the Mets and SP Zach Wheeler.

TheFakeBaseball.com – Daily Fantasy Baseball Weather Links

Chet Gresham pulls in a link from WeatherSpark.com, which has updated weather graphs and maps, for each of the major league cities that don’t have retractable roofs – or play in Tropicana Field.

LockerRoomFantasySports.com – 5 Daily Fantasy Pitcher Picks

Chris Meaney once again goes over last night’s games to find the top tweets of the baseball world. One interesting tweet was by BaseballReference.com about Ryan Braun:

RotoExperts.com – Dobish’s Daily Bread

Props to Dobish for pointing us toward White Sox rookie 2B/SS Marcus Semien yesterday. For Wednesday, he talks golf. Great.

RotoGrinders.com – MLB Grind Down

Nobody looks as deep into a day’s matchups like these guys, and Notorious takes his turn, figuring out good/bad hitters/pitchers for today’s/tonight’s games/matchups. I/can’t/stop. (Every time I read the name “Notorious,” it makes me sing that old Duran Duran song from “A View to a Kill,” I think, where it starts off, “No-, No-, No- Notorious!” Yeah, I’m not proud of that.)

He suggests using Bryce Harper against Miami’s Jacob Turner, and he wonders if today is the day Harper hits his first home run of the season – with a discounted price on many sites.

ESPN.com – Daily Notes

Gramling likes both the Red Sox and Yankees today, with Jake Peavy and Masahiro Tanaka pitching, and he has our coverboy for today, Tim Lincecum, as the sixth-best starter of the day. He also mentions another AL pitcher that’s worth watching today.

“[Indians starter Trevor] Bauer has been shaky to start his career, producing a 5.67 ERA and 1.74 WHIP over eight major league starts. But his fastball was consistently clocked in the mid-90s in spring training, which should help him get closer to his gaudy 10.2 K/9 rate over four minor league seasons.” – Gramling
